Representing Fabric's Centre for Advanced Training Workshop Leader team, delivering school recruitment workshops, assisting CAT delivery and more. Across the East and West Midlands.

 

Making Moves |
September 2023 - Present

Making Moves is a choreographic and performance project that faciliates leaders to develop work in youth settings with leading UK choreographers.

Commissioned by Sadler's Wells and working with choreographer Jordan Douglas from Far From the Norm. 

Pop up Parkour |
August 2023

Delivered by Ascension Dance Company, Pop Up Parkour is a free, holiday initiative (supported by Go Parks) that gives young people access to parkour sessions in local outdoor spaces. 

Youth Ambassador |
November 2022 - April 2023

As a soft landing phase for the learning of Critical Mass and Birmingham2022's Commonwealth Games, assigned as the Youth Ambassador for Coventry & Warwickshire. 

Engaging new demographics and audiences of young who do not participate in any dance activity. Project management included free school workshops targeted to encourage those with low self-esteem, delivering a free external workshop to uncover the incentives and barriers for participation in young people and talking to industry leaders about patterns they experience.

Beyond Borders |
April - June 2021

As part of a region-wide collaboration, Beyond Borders brought together dance artists, aspiring young leaders and digital artists to explore the theme #OneWithNature with youth groups. Leading as project manager and choreographer. 

Following on from the pilot phase, Dance Connect WM in 2020, supported by the DLG and DanceXchange.

Support Worker |
November 2021 - March 2022

During the early stages of Critical Mass, Birmingham2022's Commonwealth Games mass inclusive company, assisting as a support worker with Hereward College. 

Initially supporting the lead artist and the needs of each individual participants during weekly sessions and intensive rehearsals. This advanced into a lead artist role during the intensive rehearsals and when performing during Wondrous Stories in advance of the opening ceremony.

Compton Verney After Hours | August 2023

Improvised contemporary performance for Compton Verney's After Hours gallery lates event. Inspiration for movement draw from the exhibition 'Birds of America' and live choir.

Using contemporary dance and parkour, The Playground takes three dancers on a fun, physical story through life in the 90s.

Rehearsal Direction for Unrestrained, a dance film commissioned by Sky Arts. A work that explores contemporary dance and parkour inclusively, celebrating the strength of humans and beauty in all bodies.

The Other Side |
June 2021 - September 2022

The Other Side is a highly physical outdoor performance that tackles the ideas of bridging differences and divides in order to all benefit. The performers realise that the only way to succeed will be by finding a way to work together, support each other, and lift one another up using a large-scale Da Vinci Bridge set.

Choreographed and dancing for Ascension Dance Company. Performed at Birmingham 2022, Timber Fest and other outdoor arts festivals across the UK. 

Resilient |
March 2021 - June 2022

A dynamic dance duet that reflects the coronavirus pandemic, the collective strength of humanity and the loss felt by the UK creative industry. It explores themes of struggle, passion and adaptability through movement as you see two people work tirelessly to find a sense of hope and salvation despite their circumstances. Resilient looks to capture the sense of despair felt by the arts industry whilst drawing on elements of touch and the nationally felt need to just experience a hug with our friends, family and loved one.

Choreographed and dancing for Ascension Dance Company. Performed for Resolutions, Motus, BBC Arts Dance Passion, Innovations and more.

Swifts and the Awakening City | September - October 2021

Project Assistant for Ascension's commission by BBC Contains Strong Language. Swifts and the Awakening City is a collaboration of poetry, film, music and contemporary dance between Ashley Jordan, Ian Humphreys and Credo Kampeta. 

SILVER |
July & August 2020

SILVER was created as a remote collaboration during the Covid-19 pandemic with singer/songwriter Diascia as part of Flexus' digital dance and arts festival 'A Captured Moment'. It was commissioned by Flexus Dance Collective and supported by Arts Council England. 

"In darkness we find light and in light, darkness follows in our shadows. With music and movement, we explore the human in us, the feeling in hope, ethereality, haunting and vulnerability. Immerse yourself in an emotional wonderland where we invite you to join us in our search for silver."

9 Choreographers, 1 Dance |
May 2020

9 Choreographers, 1 Dance was created during the Covid-19 pandemic that required movers and artists that thrive of physical interaction day in day out to adjust to digital and socially distanced ways of working. As a response to this, Ascension Dance Company wanted to challenge themselves and previous associates to find new ways of dancing through the distance. The first task is inspired by the large scale exploration Exquisite Corps whereby 42 choreographers link together virtually.  

Solo |
March 2019

Solo was created whilst on Erasmus in Estonia with guidance from dance practitioner Ruslan Stepanov and music technologist Artjom Astrov. This choreography commenced with exploring shapes found in the studio and then testing the limits that could be created with each shape and in doing so expanding the boundaries.

SügisFest | Autumn 2018

Dance students from TÜ VKA and Contemporary Performance and Composition (CoPeCo) international music students from Tallinn University joined forces and collaborated on an improvised performance. Experimenting with contemporary ways to work together and against each other with both disciplines performing for SügisFest festival in Estonia.

Shots In The Dark is an interdisciplinary project by George Saxon, commissioned by Vivid Projects. It involves 16mm film projections on loops and immerses the audience in an artillery battery of light, sound and corresponding improvisation.

Conform | March 2018

Conform is a site-specific performance choreographed with Ascension Dance Company for Coventry’s Shop Front Festival, Dancing in the Streets. It explores taking risks, teamwork and powerful dynamics and is performed by Coventry University dance students.
